Teaching Approach
As a piano teacher, Jackie has over a decade of experience teaching privately since 2012. She has taught a myriad of students of all levels and ages - ranging from beginners to advanced, and is able to adapt to each student's unique learning styles and needs. Whether students are learning for fun or are pursuing exams, her goal is to instil students with a life long passion for music.
She has taught at the Classic Arts School of Music in St Albans and is currently a Piano Tutor at Emmanuel College in Point Cook, she also teaches privately at her home that is located in Ivanhoe.

Jackie is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese and English and is able to communicate in all 3 languages. She has a valid Working with Children Check.
Piano Lessons
Jackie graduated with Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Music Performance in 2015 and has obtained her Master of Music (Performance Teaching) in 2018 at the University of Melbourne.
She has experience preparing students for AMEB exams, (leisure or classical syllabuses) as well as concerts.

The rates for casual lessons are:
$102 for 1 hour
$80 for 45 minutes
$55 for 30 minutes
$38 for 20 minutes
The rates for ongoing lessons* are:
$97 for 1 hour
$74 for 45 minutes
$50 for 30 minutes
$35 for 20 minutes
Studio instruments: Yamaha grand and upright piano.
* Students require a commitment of one school term to be considered for ongoing lesson rates.
Requests for in home lessons will not be accepted due to her busy teaching schedule.
Piano Accompanist
Jackie completed the ACCET Piano Accompanist Summer Course in 2014 with esteemed pianists: Robin Baker and Irina Cherkasski, and is experienced in accompanying students for their AMEB exams, auditions and competitions.
Please contact Jackie with the title(s) of pieces that require accompanying, as well as providing the sheet music at least two to three weeks prior to the exam as she may not be able to accept last minute requests. Rehearsal are generally held at her studio in Ivanhoe.
At least one to two rehearsals with the exam student is necessary.

Rehearsals held at the student's home (within Melbourne metropolitan area) will incur a travel fee. Prices may vary depending on the difficulty of the repertoire.
